Life in a castle
The castles series emerges from an immediate connection to image-making, where gesture often precedes structure.
The figure of the castle is approached as an ambivalent form: rooted both in childhood imagination and in architectural history, it oscillates between imaginary spaces and symbolic power structures.
Color plays a central role in this tension. It gives the image a sense of instability, counterbalancing its architectural rigidity and allowing more intuitive perception of the image.
The drawings in this series are created through a spontaneous, uninterrupted process, where intuition and gesture coexist within a single pictorial surface.
