(De)constructing Space
The abstractions series develops a more structured approach to image-making, where composition preceeds execution.
The space is constructed through a sequence of decisions: line, proportions, and chromatic matching are set up in advance, giving the work a strong sense of structure.
The pictorial surface often brings to mind architectural diagrams and aerial views, where forms are stripped back to their basic essence. These compositions also suggest transitional or inbetween spaces shaped by contemporary iconography.
This series reflects a shift towards controlled construction, where composition precedes gesture.
